When a tour reads like a who’s who of some of the most exquisite locations in the world, you know it’s going to be special.
Discover eye-poppingly pretty perched towns in Provence including the ravishingly pretty little town Cassis and wander the cobbled streets of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, with its pretty as a picture arts and crafts shops. Visit Bandol, renowned for its wine, and Cassis, once a Roman port, tucked into the first bay east of Marseille, where you will find beautiful beaches, and undisturbed beauty at this authentic coastal town.
Stroll in the footsteps of artists and writers in Nice and take a boat ride to explore the famous Calanques, the extraordinary bays and cliffs near Marseille. Go treasure hunting at the famous antiques market in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and visit pretty perched villages like Le Castellet with its steep streets and stairways. You’ll also visit enchanting Èze where you’ll enjoy a picnic with breath-taking views of the Mediterranean as far as the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. One of the most beautiful panoramas in the whole of the French Riviera.
Enjoy wonderful wine tastings, spa treatments and a private tour with food writer and cookbook author Rosa Jackson of Les Petits Farcis who will shop with you at Nice’s famous food market in Old Nice and then on to her private cosy kitchen for a half day of cooking. Take a walking food tour in beautiful Aix-en-Provence, cruise the Mediterranean and see the French Riviera from the sea for a quite different perspective! Explore a one hundred year old soap factory, visit a remarkable perfumery and meet the great granddaughter of its founder. Visit flea markets and browse for treasure to take home to remind you of the precious time you spend in Provence. And you’ll stop off in Sanary-sur-Mer, home to the favourite market of the French and a picturesque seaside town with authentic seafront cafés.
The tours are small group only and though packed with thrills, it’s also relaxing itinerary. There will be plenty of time for shopping, for chilling in the sun at terraced cafes and for taking a dip in the pool at your hotel. You’ll spend your first and last night of this 11-day tour in Nice, at a hotel just a five minutes’ walk from the famous Promenade des Anglais. Then spend a few nights at the renowned spa hotel Bérard in lovely La Cadière d’ Azur, a stunningly picturesque perched village whose main square is lined with 100-year old plane trees. The second half of your tour will be at luxury boutique Hotel Cézanne in Aix in a dream location and each room has a huge walk out balcony.
